A real-life version of the train featured in Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train has just begun operations in Japan.
Based on the Taisho Era (1912-1926) train in the animated film, where the main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado must solve the mystery of its missing passengers, the train used for this portrayal is the steam locomotive SL Hitoyoshi. Operated by Kyushu Railway Co. (JR Kyushu), the “Mugen Train” will run for a limited time from Kumamoto Station in Kumamoto Prefecture to Hakata Station in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Operating from now until November 23, the train features a number of details like staff dressed as characters from the anime and a number of Demon Slayer-themed merchandise for sale. Head over to Japan Today for images of the train.
