'My Hero Academia' Gets Third Feature Film Coming Summer of 2021

Contrary to the manga’s creator’s previous comments.

Despite the manga’s creator Kōhei Horikoshi saying back in 2019 that there won’t be a third film since the second one already used one of his main plots for the manga’s final battle, it now appears that a third movie for My Hero Academia is in fact in the works. The announcement was made in Shueisha‘s 52nd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump for this year, revealing a third feature film for the beloved anime and manga. Like previous installments, Horikoshi will serve once again as chief supervisor and original character designer, with the movie slated for a summer 2021 release. So far, no details have been revealed regarding its possible storyline, although My Hero Academia‘s official Twitter account has made a series of teaser posts which combine to form the phrase “He will meet ‘The Three Musketeers’.”

As for the series, after concluding its fourth season last year, season five is now scheduled to arrive in spring next year. Fans of the franchise should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come regarding both the fifth season and the upcoming third film.
