Bungie reveals what you can and can't transfer from Destiny 1 to 2
The developer behind the hit game Destiny has revealed what features from the first title in the series will make it to the second – and it looks like power possessions and items are out.
Bungie revealed details about the upcoming Destiny sequel after fans wanted to know more about which aspects will make the move.
Describing it as a "start of a new adventure", it was revealed that the company wants to serve "both the game and the player's best interests".
"Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward," Bungie revealed. "They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1".
The developer did however say that it will preserve character personalisation.
That means class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will be transferred.
Bungie also said that veteran accounts will be awarded with honours that reflect Destiny 1 accomplishments.
"We believe this is the best path forward," it explained. "It allows us to introduce the major advancements and improvements that all of us expect from a sequel, ensuring it will be the best game we can create, unencumbered by the past.
"We're looking forward to sharing more details with you later this year for how we will honour your legacy in the future." The company also revealed that it will be launching a series of livestream showcases of content and activity updates in March, ahead of their "Age of Triumph" event at the end of the month.Destiny 2's release date has already been pushed back from its original September 2016 launch, though it looks like it may finally hit shelves in autumn.
