Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is obviously the biggest news this week. The franchise took a beating over its last two numbered entries, and while the more old-school stylings of the Chronicles series pleased some fans, the hunger for a really terrific Resident Evil offering has been palpable. Taking cues from indie horror and Silent Hills concept demo PT, this first-person, VR-optional affair seems poised to be more truly terrifying than anything mainstream video games has conjured in years. Decades, maybe. Fingers crossed, but make sure your cardiac health checks out before playing.

But horror aside, there’s a fair bit going on. Yakuza 0 finally comes west, and if tweets from those with advance copies are anything to go by, it’s as Yakuza as Yakuza games come – in other words, hilarious, dramatic, weighty.

Speaking of things coming west, looks for Tales of Berseria, the latest from Bandai Namco’s lauded JRPG series, which used to be famous for taking forever to be localised if the publisher bothered at all. This one’s only been out in Japan since August 2016, and it’s launching on PC as well as PS4. Great to see publishers making the effort to get JRPGs into the hands of fans.

Oh and the latest entry in Square Enix’s stupidly named Kingdom Hearts catch up series is out. “HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” includes a Dream Drop Distance remaster, a movie telling the story of the Foretellers, and a brand new episode leading into Kingdom Hearts 3. If you have this and the previous two HD Remix releases, you’ll have seen and done just about everything possible before the third numbered entry releases, probably in 2047 when we’re all half robot and have forgotten how to have feelings.

Oh, and don’t forget the For Honor beta. It’s not too late to register.

As always, PlayStation Store release dates may vary depending on region.
